Post - Graduate Work Permit

This visa, or work permit is intended for international students who have been studying in Canada at one of the designated schools. Typically, these are universities or public vocational schools where the study lasted at least 8 months without interruption.

The length of the visa depends on the length of the course you have completed:

• a course of 8 months to 2 years entitles you to a graduate work permit for the duration of the course (for example, after 1 year you can get a 1 year visa)
• a course of 2 years or more will allow you to stay in Canada for another 3 years on the graduate visa and work full time. In this way, you can get valuable work experience and also improve your chances of eventual migration.

The application must be submitted within 90 days from completing the course and you must have valid student visas at the time of submission.
