Tourist visa

If you're from the visa waiver country you do not need to apply for a visa in advance if you wish to visit New Zealand for up to 3 months. All you have to do is fill in the arrival form when entering the country. It is necessary to have purchased an outbound ticket and have enough money to stay in New Zealand for the specific time.

From 1st October 2019, if you are from a visa waiver country you must hold an NZeTA before you travel.

If you plan to visit for more than 3 months or you are not from visa waiver country, you must apply for turist visa that can be granted for up to 9 months. There is also a return ticket requirement, enough funds to support yourself and a genuine interest in entering New Zealand for traveling purposes. Application is submitted online and the visa fee is NZ 165.
